This was my first venture into building guitars. It was built as a final project for VCD 1331 Foundations of 3D Design. The class had free rein to build whatever they wanted for their final project. I chose to build a guitar, as it was something that I had always wanted to try, but never had the equipment to do it.
The design is almost a hybrid of a Fender Jazzmaster and a Gibson Les Paul Jr, as it features an offset body with a single cutaway. It has a single P90 pickup in the bridge, as well as a Bigsby style tremolo. The neck is maple and the body is made from reclaimed plywood.
The project was submitted to Poly Kroma 2019 (Cal Poly Pomona's annual juried art exhibition), where it received an honorable mention in the Fine Art category.
